The tenth edition of the Subida a los Castillejos takes place this Sunday, 20th September, in Nerja. The start is set for 10:00 from the Enrique López Cuenca Athletics Stadium, which will also host the finish line. The event, organised by the Club Ciclista Narixa with the collaboration of the Department of Sports, is celebrating its tenth year and maintains the route through the surroundings of Los Castillejos and the Río de la Miel.
The theme for this edition is "Effort, passion, and overcoming. 10 years of legend!" The deputy mayor, Ángela Díaz, and the local mayor of Río de la Miel, Adolfo Padial, have stated that the Town Hall will continue to support events that promote sports practice and the responsible enjoyment of the municipality's natural environment.
"I appreciate the support and institutional collaboration that make this event possible," declared the president of the Club Ciclista Narixa, Gustavo García.
García has invited locals and visitors to come to the Río de la Miel to cheer on the cyclists throughout the day, which coincides with the tenth anniversary of the event. The competition combines athletic effort with passing through some of the most unique landscapes of Nerja.
