San Miguel School hosts an intergenerational day as part of European Mobility Week, featuring a Road Safety Quiz led by the Local Police and the participation of the provincial coordinator of the DGT.
Nerja has joined the European Mobility Week with an activity at San Miguel School that brought together primary school students and users of the Active Participation Centre (CPA). The event, held on 16th September 2026, aimed to promote more sustainable, safe, and healthy mobility habits among both groups.
The activity was led by Eva Rueda, a Local Police officer and Road Safety trainer, who guided a Road Safety Quiz where participants reviewed best practices in mobility and road safety. The meeting was attended by the provincial coordinator of the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) in Málaga, María Victoria Muñoz; the councillors for Education and Seniors, Ana María Muñoz and Elena Gálvez; and the director of the Active Participation Centre, Braulio Martín.
The Nerja Town Council has emphasised the intergenerational nature of the initiative, which allowed children and seniors to share experiences and knowledge about road safety. This initiative is part of the programme for European Mobility Week, which this year is celebrated under the theme of sustainable mobility.
“The aim is to raise awareness about the importance of adopting habits that improve road safety and the quality of life for citizens,” stated the Council.
The day is part of the activities that the municipality dedicates to mobility, which will continue throughout the week with new proposals aimed at the population.
