The Torremolinos City Council allocates €40,000 for meal subsidies for the 2026-2027 school year, covering between 25% and 100% of the cost depending on family circumstances. Applications can be submitted until 7 October.
Families in Torremolinos with children enrolled in educational centres in the municipality and a school meal place can apply from this Wednesday for the meal aid for the 2026-2027 school year. The application period will remain open until 7 October and the City Council has reserved a budget of €40,000 for these subsidies.
The amounts will cover between 25% and 100% of the cost of the service based on family income. The maximum aid will be €5.54 per school day, the rate set in public centres dependent on the Junta de Andalucía.
To access the full subsidy, the family’s per capita income must be below 0.40 IPREM (€3,360); for single-parent families, the threshold rises to 0.60 IPREM (€5,040). The full 100% will also be granted in cases of severe social difficulty or risk of exclusion, to children of women assisted in shelters for victims of gender violence, and to victims of terrorism or their children.
The 75% subsidy will be granted to families with a per capita income above 0.40 IPREM and equal to or below 0.60 IPREM (between €3,360 and €5,040). The 50% subsidy corresponds to incomes above 0.60 IPREM and equal to or below 0.80 IPREM (between €5,040 and €6,720). And the 25% subsidy applies to incomes above 0.80 IPREM and equal to or below 1 IPREM (between €6,720 and €8,400).
Among the requirements, applicants must be over 18 years old or legally emancipated, have their family unit registered in Torremolinos, not have a 100% meal place discount from the Ministry of Education, and be up to date with payments to the City Council. The family’s annual per capita income cannot exceed the IPREM, set at €8,400 for 2026.
The City Council states that these aids aim to contribute to the cost of school meals, facilitate the reconciliation of family and work life, and promote balanced nutrition.

Applications can be submitted electronically through the Municipal Electronic Headquarters or in person at the General Registry of the City Council. The forms and annexes are available on the Transparency Portal (transparencia.torremolinos.es) and can also be collected at the Social Welfare Delegation.
