The National Police arrest a 53-year-old woman in Granada with over 200 previous arrests for withdrawing €940 using stolen cards from a 67-year-old resident of Torremolinos.
A 53-year-old woman with more than 200 police records has been arrested in the central district of Granada as the alleged perpetrator of a fraud committed in Torremolinos, according to Diario Sur. The arrested individual has already been placed at the disposal of the judiciary.
The events occurred when a 67-year-old resident was shopping in the municipality. At one point, she noticed that her wallet was no longer in her bag. Inside, she had €100, personal documentation, and two credit cards.
Upon checking her banking app, the victim found that five cash withdrawals had been made at an ATM totalling €940 in the few minutes she had been without her wallet.
After receiving the complaint, the investigative group from the Torremolinos-Benalmádena Police Station identified the alleged perpetrator of the withdrawals. She was under a prohibition from approaching the city of Valencia due to an aggravated theft offence for repeat offending, and she has moved around Spain using up to twelve different identities.
Two weeks after the incident, and with an active police search, the agents located the woman in Granada and proceeded with her arrest.
