A 54-year-old man died on Thursday night in a head-on collision between two vehicles at kilometre 7 of the A-7053 road, in the municipality of Mijas, heading towards Alhaurín el Grande. The accident occurred at 22:12 hours, according to data provided by the emergency services 112, part of the Emergency Agency of Andalusia.
In addition to the deceased, three other people were injured and taken to Hospital Costa del Sol: a two-year-old child, a 65-year-old man, and a 26-year-old woman. Medical services confirmed the man's death at the scene of the accident.
Emergency services from the Guardia Civil, Firefighters, and the 061 Emergency Medical Centre, part of the Andalusian Health Service, were dispatched to the accident site.
This incident adds to three other fatalities recorded on the province's roads in the preceding hours. In Alhaurín de la Torre, a 48-year-old motorcyclist lost his life after falling into a ditch at around 15:30 hours at kilometre 1 of the A-7052. In Antequera, a truck and a car collided head-on, resulting in the deaths of both occupants of the car, who were trapped inside; the firefighters from Alhaurín de la Torre and Torremolinos, the 061, and the Traffic Guardia Civil intervened at the scene, but medical personnel could not save their lives.
The investigation into the three accidents falls to the Traffic Guardia Civil, which will determine the causes of each collision.
