The IX edition of Marbella Fashion Show, held in Puerto Banús, crowned designer Laura Ortiz as the winner of the competition 'The Future of Design: Málaga de Moda 2026', promoted by the Provincial Council of Málaga.
The runway of Puerto Banús once again became the epicentre of Andalusian fashion on July 23 and 24 with the celebration of the IX edition of Marbella Fashion Show. The event, which took place on Avenida Lola Flores, brought together hundreds of attendees, designers, entrepreneurs, and institutional representatives, consolidating an event that is already a reference in the fashion calendar of the province of Málaga.
The new talents competition 'The Future of Design: Málaga de Moda 2026', promoted by the Provincial Council of Málaga through its brand Málaga de Moda, Talento Original, was one of the highlights of the programme. After the jury's deliberation, designer Laura Ortiz was awarded the prize thanks to the quality, creativity, and projection of her creation. The organisation highlighted the extraordinary level of all participants and emphasised the importance of this competition in boosting the future of Málaga and Andalusian fashion.
The jury responsible for evaluating the finalist collections was composed of Kika Caracuel, vice president of the Provincial Council of Málaga; Yuliya Nahorna, digital content creator and luxury ambassador in several countries; Royer Martos, actor and YouTuber; Alberto Peláez, entrepreneur and international model; and Cristian VN, actor and content creator. The award was presented by Kika Caracuel and Carlos García Giménez, territorial delegate for Culture and Sport in Málaga, who congratulated the winner and highlighted the support for young talent.
The Marbella Fashion Show had the institutional backing of the Marbella City Council, the Junta de Andalucía, and the Provincial Council of Málaga. Remedios Bocanegra, advisor responsible for the Delegation of Resident Foreigners of the Marbella City Council, and Carlos García Giménez represented the administrations, reaffirming their commitment to an event that positions Marbella as an international reference for fashion, tourism, and culture.
During the two days, the runway hosted shows from national and international designers. The first day began with Romeo Couture, followed by Btissam Dahane Couture, Malne, Allure Beldi, Susana Hidalgo, and Jorge Sánchez. The second day featured María Diezma, who participated for the first time on the runway, Hind Iraqi, Starlite Universe, and Esteban Freiría. Teresa Perujo, winner of the previous edition of the new talents competition, also walked the runway, and there was a collective show of the brands affiliated with Málaga de Moda: Sofía Santini, Susana Zamora, Inma de la Riva, and Julieth.
Alongside the shows, the exhibition area recorded a large influx of visitors. This space featured brands such as Julieth (affiliated with Málaga de Moda), Llyubasha Kyleshko, Lily's Secret, Allure Beldi, Grupo Qantima, Sikkim, Cab-ron, Jamones Popi, and Conecta Radar, among others. The exhibition area facilitated encounters between brands, professionals, and the public, combining fashion, design, craftsmanship, gastronomy, and entrepreneurship.
The organisation of the Marbella Fashion Show wanted to thank all the designers for their participation and the support of the institutions, highlighting that the event continues to grow and consolidate as a key platform for fashion in the Costa del Sol. For attendees, the event provided a unique opportunity to discover the latest trends and emerging talent from the region.
The success of this ninth edition reinforces the commitment of the Provincial Council of Málaga to fashion as an economic and cultural engine, through initiatives such as Málaga de Moda, Talento Original, which seeks to promote local talent and position the province on the map of national and international fashion.
