The sustainable resort Real de La Quinta, in the Marbella-Benahavís area, inaugurates El Lago Club, a leisure and wellness centre with a navigable lake of 35,000 square metres. The overall project has already completed half of its development, with more than 400 homes built.
The residential complex Real de La Quinta, located between Marbella and Benahavís, has given a new boost to its development with the opening of El Lago Club, a space for leisure, sports, and wellness that aims to become the social epicentre of the urbanisation. The launch of these facilities comes as the overall project has reached approximately 50% of its execution, with more than 400 homes already built, of which 223 have been delivered to their owners.
El Lago Club is centred around a navigable lake of over 35,000 square metres and 400 metres in length, which serves as the central element of the complex. Surrounding it are a beach area with a bathing zone, a dock for water sports such as kayaking or paddle surfing, tennis and paddle courts, a six-hole golf course, children's areas, and circuits for running and hiking in the natural environment of the Sierra de las Nieves, declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO.
Borja Pascual, CEO of La Quinta Grupo Inmobiliario, emphasised that the initiative aims to bring the beach experience to the mountains, offering residents a residential proposal fully integrated into nature. The project is set on an area close to two million square metres on the slopes of the mountain and has maintained a low-density model to ensure the sustainability of the territory.
In the wellness area, El Lago Club hosts the arrival of Le Max Wellness Club to Marbella, a space equipped with a high-performance gym, spa, sauna, Turkish bath, and heated pool, focused on personalised health and fitness programmes. The gastronomic proposal is provided by Saltao, the new concept from the Azotea group, which offers a menu of Peruvian-Mediterranean fusion designed by Víctor and Paula Gutiérrez. These chefs are responsible for the Tayta restaurant in Salamanca, the only Peruvian cuisine establishment with a Michelin star in Spain.
The opening of El Lago Club marks a milestone in the consolidation of Real de La Quinta, which has already been recognised as the first urban development in Spain to obtain the sustainable construction certificate BREEAM. La Quinta Grupo Inmobiliario, with over three decades of experience in designing exclusive residences in the Marbella area, includes among its reference projects La Quinta Golf, a 160-hectare urbanisation that houses more than 1,300 homes.
Among the upcoming milestones in the master plan of the complex is the future opening of the Angsana Real de La Quinta hotel, operated in partnership with Banyan Tree Group. This establishment will strengthen the international positioning of the destination and contribute to the economic and employment dynamism of the Costa del Sol, according to sources from the developer.
For residents of the area and potential buyers, the opening of these facilities adds value to the luxury residential offer in the Western Costa del Sol, which continues to attract international investors. El Lago Club is already operational and can be used by the owners of the delivered homes, as well as by those who purchase new units in the phases still under development.
