The Manilva Town Council awards the first phase of the covering of the El Estanquillo stream, covering 60 meters, with an investment of 280,000 euros and a start time of approximately one month.

The first phase of the covering of the El Estanquillo stream, in Manilva, will begin in approximately one month. This has been confirmed by the Town Council following a technical visit to the area by the councillor for Infrastructure and Works, Marcos Ruiz, alongside the area director, Alejandro Medina, municipal technicians, representatives from the Diputación de Málaga, and the awarded company.

The project includes 60 meters of covering and has an investment of 280,000 euros, as part of the concertation plans of the Diputación de Málaga. The work will involve the installation of prefabricated concrete structures that will allow water to flow and the creation of a future walkable boulevard that will connect both banks of the stream.

According to the Town Council, the work will improve connectivity between the Castillo de La Duquesa area and the Los Granados zone, as well as address a health issue caused by discharges into the stream.

The project will also prepare the ground for future developments of protected housing on the adjacent municipal plot, as reported by the Council.

The municipal forecast is that the work for this first phase will begin in approximately one month, once the preliminary procedures with the awarded company are completed.
