Fuengirola schedules twenty activities for seniors until December

The Fuengirola City Council presents nearly twenty activities for seniors from September to December, including hiking, workshops, theatre, and Christmas teas.

The Third Age Area of the Fuengirola City Council has presented nearly twenty sports, cultural, educational, and social proposals for seniors, which will take place from September until the end of December. Registrations will open at the area's offices.

The Third Age Area of the Fuengirola City Council has prepared around twenty activities for the last months of 2026, aimed at promoting participation, active ageing, and the well-being of the elderly in the municipality. The councillor for the Third Age, Cristina Bornao, presented the programme on Monday, which starts in September and extends until the end of December.

“At the City Council, we continue to work to offer our seniors a wide, varied programme designed for them, allowing them to stay active, share experiences, and enjoy their free time,” Bornao stated. “We want our seniors to always have proposals at their fingertips and to find in the Third Age Area a space for meeting, participation, and coexistence.”

The first event will be on September 19 with Urban Hiking along the Coastal Path, departing at 8:30 am from Pedro Cuevas square. Pre-registration is required, and participants will receive fruit and water.

On October 1, at 2:00 pm, the Juan Gómez ‘Juanito’ pavilion will host the traditional Tribute Party for Seniors ‘Clemente Jaime’. Invitations can be collected from September 17 until full capacity is reached and will be personally handed to holders of the Fuengirola pensioners' card, upon presentation of the card.

From October 6 to 12, the Third Age Booth will be present at the Feria del Rosario with performances, a daily menu, and affordable prices, free entry.

The Quarterly Active Maintenance Workshop will start on October 13, every Tuesday at 10:30 am at the Puebla Lucía Social Home, in collaboration with the Red Cross. Registrations will open on September 3 at the Third Age Area offices until full capacity is reached.

From October 26 to 30, the El Boquetillo Town Hall will host the Press Without Age Workshop at 10:00 am, in collaboration with the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation. Registrations will also be open from September 3.

On October 24, there will be another Urban Hiking route through Los Pacos, departing at 9:00 am from Pedro Cuevas square. Registration will be mandatory and can be done from October 13 to 22.

In November, the Seasonal Flu Vaccination Campaign is planned at the Puebla Lucía Social Home, pending confirmation from the Costa del Sol Health District. On November 4, the Palace of Peace will host the Autumn Party at 5:30 pm. Invitations will be collected from October 22 until full capacity is reached, for holders of the pensioners' card.

On November 20, seniors can participate in ‘Get to Know Bioparc’, at 11:30 am in the hall of Bioparc Fuengirola. Invitations can be picked up from November 6 until full capacity is reached, with the same requirement for the card.

The Muñoz Seca theatre group will perform the play Hay que matar al muerto, by Hugo Daniel Marcos, from November 24 to 27 at the Casa de la Cultura, at 8:00 pm. Tickets cost five euros and can be purchased at the Casa de la Cultura. The proceeds from the performance on the 27th will be donated to CUDECA.

On November 21, another Urban Hiking route will take place around the Sohail Castle, departing at 9:00 am from Spain square. Registration can be formalised from November 6 to 19.

On November 26, at 6:00 pm, the El Boquetillo Town Hall will host the show ‘Dear Me’. Invitations can be collected from November 18 until full capacity is reached.

In December, on the 1st at 5:30 pm, the Palace of Peace will host the Grand Zambomba, with invitations available from November 18 to 27 or until full capacity is reached. On December 15, 17, 18, and 22, the traditional Christmas Teas will be held in various hotels in Fuengirola, with invitations from December 1 until full capacity is reached. The gatherings will be enlivened by the Puebla Lucía Choir.

The programme will conclude on December 29 with the intergenerational activity ‘Enjoy with your Grandchild’, at 11:30 am in the hall of Bioparc Fuengirola. Registrations will be open from December 16 to 28 until full capacity is reached.

Registrations and the collection of invitations are carried out at the Third Age Area offices, depending on each activity.
