The port facilities of Fuengirola maintain the certification granted by ICTES after passing external audits based on UNE-ISO standards.

Fuengirola's Marina has renewed the Q for Tourist Quality for the 2026 season, a distinction awarded by the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality and Sustainability (ICTES). The flag-raising ceremony took place this morning with the presence of the Councillor for Beaches and Municipal Ports Manager, José Sánchez, Deputy Mayor Rodrigo Romero, and the port director, Antonio Sánchez.

The certification confirms that the port meets the highest standards in quality, safety, maintenance, customer service, accessibility, environmental protection, and continuous improvement. The renewal follows the successful completion of external audits based on the applicable UNE-ISO standards for marinas.

José Sánchez highlighted that “the renewal of this flag is a recognition of the work, effort, and daily dedication of all the professionals who make it possible for our Marina to maintain high levels of excellence.” The councillor added that “behind this distinction is a permanent commitment to continuous improvement and providing the best possible service to residents, visitors, and users.”

The municipal manager emphasized the difficulty of maintaining such a certification, which requires “involvement, professionalism, and constant evaluation of all processes.” According to Sánchez, this recognition demonstrates that Fuengirola continues to work to offer “modern, safe, accessible, and sustainable facilities, in line with the quality that characterizes our tourist destination.”

For his part, Rodrigo Romero pointed out that “quality is one of the pillars on which municipal management is based. Each distinction that Fuengirola achieves or renews is the result of a determined commitment to excellence and improving public services.” The deputy mayor added that this recognition helps to reinforce the prestige of the Marina and its positioning as one of the main nautical-sporting infrastructures in Andalusia.

The Q for Tourist Quality is one of the main national distinctions in tourist excellence. It guarantees that certified facilities offer a service in accordance with rigorous criteria of quality, efficient management, safety, accessibility, and respect for the environment. Its granting and renewal are carried out after passing independent audits that verify compliance with all these requirements.

With this renewal, Fuengirola's Marina reaffirms its commitment to excellence in management and user satisfaction. This distinction adds to other quality and sustainability recognitions obtained by the municipality, consolidating Fuengirola's image as a benchmark tourist destination that bets on innovation, professionalism, and excellence in managing its infrastructures.

Users of the marina, both residents and visitors, benefit from services that meet the highest standards, resulting in greater safety, accessibility, and personalised attention. The certification also implies a commitment to environmental sustainability, with measures to minimize the impact of port activity on the environment.

Fuengirola's Marina is one of the most important nautical facilities in the province of Málaga and an economic engine for the city. The renewal of the Q for Tourist Quality reinforces its appeal to tourists and sailors, who find in it a modern and well-managed port.
