Fuengirola Organises a Kayak Trip Along the Beaches of Maro for Young People

The Youth Area of Fuengirola is resuming its kayak trip along the beaches of Maro on August 25, aimed at young people aged 16 to 35. Registrations will open on August 7 at 20:00 through the Citizen Card.

Young people from Fuengirola aged between 16 and 35 will have the opportunity to explore one of the most unique natural spots in the province by kayak. The Youth Area of the Fuengirola City Council has confirmed the event will take place on August 25, as part of the Young Summer programme, with a planned departure at 9:00 from Mercacentro and a return around 20:00 from Nerja.

Registrations will open on August 7 at 20:00 through the Citizen Card app, as detailed by the Youth Councillor, Isaac Vargas. The councillor emphasised that the initiative returns to the municipal calendar after the excellent reception of the previous edition, when spots were quickly filled.

“Last year this activity received a fantastic response from young people, and therefore we wanted to include it again in our summer programme. It is a proposal that combines sport, nature, and socialising, while also allowing participants to discover one of the most spectacular natural sites on the Costa del Sol,” Vargas highlighted.

The day will start with a round trip by bus to the beaches of Maro in Nerja, where participants will have free time before starting the guided kayak route. The crossing, led by specialised instructors, will last approximately two and a half hours and will allow participants to explore the cliffs and coves of this coastal area of Málaga.

This proposal is part of the Fuengirola Young project, funded by the Andalusian Youth Institute, with which the City Council expands its healthy leisure offerings during the summer. Vargas explained that the aim is to provide attractive and accessible alternatives that encourage sports practice, contact with nature, and socialising among the young people of the municipality.

The municipal official announced that the Youth Area will continue to present new proposals in the coming weeks as part of this programme. Finally, he encouraged those interested to register as soon as possible: “We invite all interested parties to sign up as soon as possible and enjoy a different day, kayaking in a privileged environment and sharing the experience with other young people from Fuengirola.”
