Nerja Town Hall will allocate 80,000 euros to the third phase of the Comprehensive Child and Youth Care Centre TALLERTEA, following the approval of a budget modification in the last Plenary session.
Nerja Town Hall will contribute 80,000 euros to the third phase of the Comprehensive Child and Youth Care Centre TALLERTEA, driven by the Taller de la Amistad association for the care of individuals with intellectual disabilities. This was agreed upon in a working meeting between the mayor, José Alberto Armijo, and the president of the entity, Gloria Matutano.
During the meeting, which also included the councillors for Economy and Finance and Municipal Services, along with representatives from the association, it was confirmed that the Plenary approved a budget modification in its last session that will allow the committed credits from the Town Hall to be made available to the entity.
The TALLERTEA project aims to provide comprehensive services to children and young people with intellectual disabilities. The third phase, now co-financed, will allow progress in the execution of facilities that will become a benchmark in the Axarquía region.
During the meeting, there was also a follow-up on the parking spaces in municipal plots granted to the Taller de la Amistad for their operation. This initiative, launched a few months ago, is helping to create jobs for individuals with disabilities and generate economic resources for the association's projects.
The mayor reiterated the Town Hall's firm commitment to the Taller de la Amistad and highlighted the extraordinary work it does in favour of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The association, based in Nerja, has been working for decades for the social and labour inclusion of this group.
The municipal contribution adds to other aids and collaborations that the Town Hall maintains with the entity. The expectation is that the works for the third phase of the centre will begin in the coming months, once the administrative procedures are formalised.
