A broken down lorry on the A-7 near Arroyo de la Miel (Benalmádena) is causing five kilometres of traffic jams towards Cádiz. Another broken down vehicle on the MA-20, near the Palacio de Ferias, adds to the two kilometres of dense traffic in the false tunnel of Carlos Haya.
Two broken down lorries have complicated traffic on the main roads of the province of Málaga during the morning of this Thursday. The first incident was reported around 8:00 AM on the A-7, passing through Arroyo de la Miel, in the municipality of Benalmádena, according to Diario Sur. The vehicle was stopped at kilometre 1005 and forced the partial closure of one lane towards Cádiz.
By 10:00 AM, the traffic jams at that point had reached five kilometres, awaiting the removal of the lorry. The situation affected one of the busiest stretches of the western coast during the morning rush hour.
Shortly after, around 9:20 AM, a second lorry broke down on the MA-20, passing through Málaga capital. The incident occurred at kilometre 700, near the Palacio de Ferias, and forced the closure of the right lane. At that point, the traffic jams added to the usual congestion in the area of the false tunnel of Carlos Haya, officially named Ortega Prados, where about two kilometres were accumulating towards Málaga.
Once the vehicles were removed, traffic began to return to normal throughout the morning. The road network in the province also recorded issues at other points that typically experience problems from early on, such as the A-7 passing through Rincón de la Victoria and the exit from Alhaurín de la Torre. The incidents were mainly caused by traffic jams and dense traffic, affecting municipalities such as Rincón de la Victoria, Alhaurín de la Torre, and Monda.
