Málaga, 24 September 2026. The Local Police of Málaga has conducted an operation resulting in the arrest of seven individuals and the recovery of numerous items valued at over €16,000. This operation took place on Mauricio Moro Pareto street and nearby areas from July to the first half of September.
Operation Results
During this period, the Investigation and Protection Group (GIP) intervened in several cases of crimes, managing to recover 12 mobile phones, four laptops, a high-end bicycle, a stolen vehicle, and €6,170 in cash. Additionally, other items such as counterfeit football shirts and store goods valued at nearly €300 were detected.
Among those arrested are a man and a woman who are part of a travelling criminal group specialised in thefts and scams, involved in several crimes committed across Spain. Interventions for minor thefts were also carried out, and another individual was investigated for an industrial property crime.
Protection of Commerce and Legislation
This operation responds to the Local Police's control plans to ensure safety in commercial areas and prevent the purchase of stolen goods. Buyers who acquire items knowing their illicit origin may incur a crime of receiving stolen property, which could lead to significant penalties.
The GIP's work focuses on investigating property crimes, combating fraud, and various forms of crime. After the completion of the actions, the corresponding files have been forwarded to the competent judicial authorities.
