The Ronda City Council has provisionally awarded the purchase of three hundred percent electric buses to the company Marín y Ayala. The new service, which will be municipal, will also reach Padre Jesús, Olivar de las Monjas, and the El Fuerte industrial estate.
The Ronda City Council has provisionally awarded the company Marín y Ayala the purchase of three hundred percent electric buses with which it will directly provide urban transport service. This was announced on Friday by the Councillor for Mobility, Jorge Fernández, who specified that two of the vehicles will have 48 seats and the third, smaller one, 22, to navigate the narrower streets of the urban area.
The three buses are accessible for people with reduced mobility and include digital equipment, including USB chargers for users. The award is provisional and the contract still needs to complete its processing.
The councillor pointed out that the new service will reach all neighbourhoods of Ronda and, as a novelty, also Padre Jesús, Olivar de las Monjas, and the industrial estate El Fuerte, areas that have so far been outside the network.

Fernández explained that at the next municipal plenary, it is expected that the file for municipalising the service will be definitively approved. According to his forecasts, the new urban transport will be a reality in the first quarter of the year.
The City Council is also working on renewing the bus shelters, which will feature screens to inform about the location of the buses in real time. The councillor thanked the residents for their patience in the face of a historic demand from the city.
