The Villanueva del Trabuco council has presented the programme for its Sports Week 2026, which will take place from August 1 to 7 with eleven activities for both children and adults.

The Villanueva del Trabuco council has organised a new edition of its Sports Week, which will run from August 1 to 7, 2026. The initiative, announced through the council's social media, includes eleven sports activities aimed at both children and adults, with the goal of promoting sports practice and community coexistence during the first days of August.

The programme distinguishes two categories of participation: children, for those born in 2011 or later, and adults, for those born in 2010 or earlier. Each activity is assigned to one or the other category, or both depending on the activity. The programme combines court sports, water activities, and outdoor night events, spread over seven consecutive days.

Sports Week will kick off on Saturday, August 1, with two court activities: badminton and ping-pong. The following day, Sunday 2, will feature the 3×3 basketball tournament, the only activity of the inaugural weekend. Monday, August 3, will be dedicated to padel in the children's category.

Tuesday, August 4, will host two events: on one hand, the children's futsal penalty shootout competition, and in the evening, the cycling march to the Puente del Paraíso, one of the two night events scheduled. Wednesday, August 5, will combine the children's orientation cross during the day and beach volleyball for adults.

Thursday, August 6, will be exclusively reserved for the second night event: hiking to the Ermita de Jeva, designed to avoid the hottest hours. The week will conclude on Friday, August 7, with a double event: beach mate and beach football, both in the children's category, which will wrap up seven consecutive days of activity.

The two night events — the cycling march to the Puente del Paraíso and the hiking to the Ermita de Jeva — along with beach volleyball, are the only activities open to the adult category, in contrast to a programme predominantly aimed at children. The council has indicated that this distribution seeks to adapt to the summer weather conditions and facilitate participation for all residents.

Thus, the Sports Week of Villanueva del Trabuco consolidates itself as an annual event for sports enthusiasts in the Nororma region, offering alternatives for all ages and levels. Interested parties can check specific schedules and registration locations through the council's official channels.
