Patricia Navarro announced on Monday that she will run for re-election as president of the PP in Málaga at the ordinary congress on November 6 and 7, at the NH hotel in the capital. The current leader reflects on four years with 48 mayoralties and 508 councillors.
Patricia Navarro confirmed on Monday that she will seek a second term at the helm of the PP in Málaga. She made the announcement at the provincial party headquarters, in front of mayors, party officials, and members, with a management committee chaired by Margarita del Cid leading up to the congress, according to Diario Sur.
The ordinary congress that will decide the presidency is scheduled for November 6 and 7 at the NH hotel in Málaga. Navarro, 47, took office in October 2022, succeeding her predecessor, and is now seeking to reaffirm her position. With this decision, she aligns herself with leaders such as Elías Bendodo and Joaquín Ramírez, who led the party for two or more terms.
In her speech, Navarro defended the management of these four years with data: the PP now governs 48 mayoralties, has 508 councillors, the largest municipal representation recorded by the party, and managed to take the provincial deputy for Ronda. "We govern in places that seemed impregnable, in towns with a strong socialist tradition," she pointed out to the attendees.

The president asserted a party without internal fractures ahead of the upcoming electoral processes. "The peace of mind I have is that there are no cracks, no conflicts or fragmentation, and this party remains one single entity to face the challenges," she maintained. The event was attended by prominent figures in the party such as Elisa Pérez de Siles, Margarita del Cid, Francisco Salado, and Jota Carmona.
Navarro also appealed to humility when reflecting on her time at the helm of the organisation: "My intention is to run again from the humility of knowing that in these four years there have been times when one is right and others when one is wrong." The PP's statutes require a small number of endorsements to present an alternative candidacy, although no other candidates are currently expected to run.
The key issues of the party will be addressed at the congress in November, where the provincial leadership for the coming years will be defined.
