Málaga, 15 July 2026. Málaga Local Police, through the Investigation and Protection Group (GIP), has carried out an operation in the Guadalhorce Industrial Estate, where nearly a thousand counterfeit bags were seized, along with 2,630 tags bearing various brand logos.

The intervention took place on 6 July, when plainclothes officers patrolling the area observed an individual managing a business handing a bag to a driver in a van parked outside the establishment. Noticing the suspicious transaction, the officers decided to stop the vehicle to investigate possible criminal activity.

During the inspection of the van's contents, the officers found several bags that appeared to be counterfeits of well-known brands. Additionally, upon conducting a superficial search of the driver, they discovered several tags with brand logos that were ready to be placed on the bags, leading to the seizure of the merchandise.

Subsequently, the officers returned to the warehouse and observed the manager handing another bag to a second buyer. This time, counterfeit bags and tags were also found, prompting their immediate confiscation.

Given the seriousness of the situation, the officers decided to inspect the interior of the establishment, where they found numerous boxes filled with counterfeit products and more tags with logos. It was confirmed that the bags were being offered at significantly lower prices than the originals and did not meet the characteristics of authentic products, as they were made from low-quality materials and lacked official labels. Therefore, all boxes were immobilised and sealed, with the merchandise placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, to which the events were reported via a formal record.

This operation was conducted in collaboration with the Economic Crimes Group II of the National Police.
