Con Málaga calls for an expansion of the Violet Points at the Málaga Fair 2026

The municipal group Con Málaga demands that the City Council expand the Violet Points system at the Fair, with more locations, night hours, and presence at the entrances to the Real. Deputy spokesperson Toni Morillas claims that the two current points are insufficient.

Con Málaga has submitted a formal request for the City Council to reinforce the Violet Points system during the Málaga Fair 2026. The municipal group's deputy spokesperson, Toni Morillas, argues that the current resources are not adequate for an event that attracts nearly a million visitors.

Currently, the system includes two Violet Points: one at the Youth esplanade within the fairgrounds, and another in the city centre. Together, they have nine specialised professionals, a number that Morillas considers clearly insufficient to handle the massive influx and to carry out effective preventive work.

The councillor has highlighted the issue of hours: the point at the Real closes at two in the morning, leaving the busiest night hours without coverage. Therefore, she demands extending the service and expanding the network to other strategic points, such as the Municipal Auditorium, the main access streets, bus and taxi stops, and the surroundings of the venue.

Morillas has reminded that Málaga is the Spanish province with the highest number of gender-based crimes this summer, a fact that, in her opinion, necessitates doubling efforts in prevention. The proposal is not limited to adding personnel but suggests a broader territorial network that accompanies the entry and exit routes to the Real, including the night pedestrian sections.

The group also calls for enhanced training for the booths to ensure they act as safe environments and know how to respond to potential misogynistic behaviours. All of this is within the framework of a Fair that features nearly 200 shows across the city and anticipates an average spending of 76.63 euros per person.

Con Málaga insists that security must be planned considering the dispersion of events and mobility towards Cortijo de Torres. The request comes just as the City Council finalises the security arrangements for festivities that begin next August.
