In Málaga, the Andalusian Government has announced the opening of the application period for the XX Andalusia Agriculture and Fisheries Awards. Interested parties will have until October 7 to participate in this twentieth edition of the awards.

Awards categories

These awards are distributed across eight categories, thus recognising individuals and entities in the agricultural, fishing, water management, and rural development sectors. Through these awards, the Government aims to highlight initiatives that have improved competitiveness in the primary sector and the agri-food industry, as well as to promote sustainable growth in Andalusia.

In this edition, awards will be given in various categories, including two sector-specific awards dedicated to ‘Agriculture’ and ‘Fishing’. There will also be an award for ‘Quality Promotion’ in different areas, the ‘Innovative Initiative’ for projects that promote research and technology in the sector, and the ‘Sustainability’ category which will evaluate the efficient management of natural resources.

Promotion of initiatives

The categories also include ‘Communication and Rural World’, which recognises dissemination actions in the agri-food and fishing sectors; and ‘Women’s Initiative’, which highlights those who promote female entrepreneurship and economic diversification. Finally, the award for ‘Efficiency and Water Commitment’ will reward improvements in water usage through innovations and projects.

The application process can be carried out both in person and through electronic means. For more information on how to participate, one can visit the website of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development.
