The Civil Guard has arrested an individual as part of operation ALXARAF PRODITIO OLEA, related to a scam affecting olive producers and farmers in the provinces of Seville and Huelva.
The investigation began during the 2025 agricultural campaign, after receiving several complaints from farmers and cooperatives. To date, complaints have been collected from 258 farmers, who have reported losses amounting to €1,765,220.
Details of the scam
The arrested individual allegedly acted by promising to pay for the harvests obtained from the farmers after their sale. However, the money collected from the sale of the olives did not reach their rightful owners.
The Civil Guard confirmed that the accused had maintained the trust of the affected parties through unfulfilled payment promises, as well as the issuance of promissory notes that went unpaid due to lack of funds.
The investigation has included a thorough analysis of documents related to transactions, contracts, invoices, and bank statements. All of this has helped to unravel the modus operandi of the suspect.
Operation and findings
During the exploitation phase of the operation, the Civil Guard carried out two entries and searches in Olivares and Albaida del Aljarafe. In these operations, two high-end vehicles, thirteen luxury watches, gold and silver bars, as well as numerous electronic devices and relevant documentation were seized.
Additionally, the distribution of 1,220,650 kilograms of the manzanilla olive variety has been halted, which have been placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
The investigation continues, and it is not ruled out that new information may emerge regarding other individuals or companies linked to this case, as well as the search for more assets related to the operation.
