The Vélez-Málaga Town Hall has launched a special security and mobility operation for Dreambeach 2026, which will take place on July 31 and August 1. More than 3,000 parking spaces will be made available and traffic will be restricted on Avenida Juan Carlos I.
The Vélez-Málaga Fairgrounds will host the next edition of Dreambeach, one of the largest electronic music festivals of the summer in the province, on July 31 and August 1. To ensure the event runs smoothly, the Town Hall has activated an Operational Security and Mobility Plan coordinated by the Local Police, with a deployment of officers at access points and parking areas during both days, from 19:00 to 06:00 hours.
The main new feature this year is the provision of more than 3,000 parking spaces distributed across three large areas. Attendees will initially access Parking 1, next to the La Pañoleta Industrial Estate. Once this fills up, the Local Police will redirect traffic to Parking 2, near the Aquavelis Water Park, and if necessary, Parking 3 will be opened behind the El Ingenio Shopping Centre. The regulation of these accesses will be carried out in real-time to avoid congestion on the A-356 and A-7.
During the festival, the section of Avenida Juan Carlos I between the ALDI roundabout and the access to the El Ingenio Shopping Centre will remain restricted to general traffic. This road will be reserved for emergency services, security forces, medical transport, firefighters, authorized urban and private buses, as well as taxis and VTCs, which will only be allowed to pick up and drop off passengers.
The Local Police may adopt extraordinary measures, such as temporary road closures, access restrictions, changes to traffic direction, and adjustments to provisional signage, depending on the influx of vehicles and pedestrians. The Town Hall recommends that drivers travelling between Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar during the festival use the Camino de Torrox as an alternative route.
The mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Jesús Lupiáñez, highlighted that "the Town Hall has been working for months to plan a security and mobility operation worthy of an event of the magnitude of Dreambeach." Lupiáñez emphasized that "coordination between the Local Police, other security forces, emergency services, and the festival organization will be crucial for everything to proceed smoothly."
The Town Hall calls for the cooperation of attendees and residents to respect the established routes, use the designated parking areas, and follow the agents' instructions. The aim is for Dreambeach 2026 to take place in a safe and orderly environment, minimizing the impact on traffic and the daily lives of residents.
The festival, which attracts thousands of people each year, has a significant tourist and economic impact on Vélez-Málaga. This year's operation seeks to balance the massive influx with civic coexistence, and the Town Hall thanks the public in advance for their understanding of any potential inconveniences.
Attendees should plan their arrival in advance, check real-time access through official channels, and avoid parking in non-designated areas, as these will be penalized. The Local Police will increase surveillance around the venue to ensure compliance with traffic and safety regulations.
