The Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall and the Metropolitan Transport Consortium of the Málaga Area are adding a service that departs from Los Rubios at 7:45 and arrives at Andalucía Tech at 8:50. The enhancement will initially be in effect until October 30.
The university line M-166 Rincón de la Victoria-Teatinos now has a new service in the early morning hours. The service, driven by the Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall and the Metropolitan Transport Consortium of the Málaga Area (CTMAM), starts at Los Rubios at 7:45 and is scheduled to pass through the urban centre of Rincón de la Victoria at 7:57, by the Town Hall at 7:58, by Don Miguel at 8:05, by Ciencias at 8:32, by the Clinical Hospital at 8:36, and by Andalucía Tech at 8:50.
The Councillor for Mobility and Transport, Pablo Pardini, explained the aim of the measure.
“The aim of the measure is to strengthen the public transport offer in the early morning hours, coinciding with the start of university activities, and to facilitate the movements of students and users from the municipality towards the Teatinos campus.”
The Mayor, Francisco Salado, framed the initiative as a response to the mobility needs of residents who use public transport daily to reach Teatinos.
“Coordination with the Metropolitan Transport Consortium is essential to adapt the transport offer to the real needs of our residents, especially during the academic year, when movements towards the university campus increase.”
The validity of this special enhancement is initially planned until October 30. Pardini noted that this period will serve to analyse the operation of the service and the response from users.
“During these weeks we will be able to analyse more precisely the operation of this new service and the response from users. Depending on the recorded demand, the Metropolitan Transport Consortium of the Málaga Area will study its continuity or a possible extension of the enhancement.”
