The Municipal Covered Pavilion Rubén Ruzafa, in Torre de Benagalbón, will bring together around a hundred players of all ages and levels. Registration is free for athletes from the municipality and costs 5 euros for others.
The Municipal Covered Pavilion Rubén Ruzafa, in Torre de Benagalbón, will be the venue on September 27 for the third day of the Provincial Badminton Circuit, an event organized by the Diputación de Málaga together with the Malagueña Delegation of the Andalusian Badminton Federation and the Sports Area of the Rincón de la Victoria City Council.
The competition will gather around a hundred male and female players of different ages and levels, starting at approximately 9:30 am. Both singles and doubles events will be contested.
The Councillor for Sports, Antonio José Martín, has indicated that the circuit welcomes both federated and non-federated athletes.
“One of the most interesting aspects of this circuit is that it allows participation from both federated and non-federated players, adapting to different levels of experience,” he explained.
The mayor, Francisco Salado, emphasized that the municipality is once again hosting a provincial-level competition.
“We want our facilities to be open spaces for sports practice and for hosting events that also allow us to showcase Rincón de la Victoria to those who visit us,” the mayor added.
The technical director of the Jorge Guiñen Badminton Club and the Municipal Badminton School of Rincón de la Victoria, Antonio Rico, has expressed gratitude for the support of the competition and detailed the local participation.
“Around twenty players from our municipality, of different ages and categories, will participate in this event,” he highlighted.
The circuit includes categories from mini badminton to senior, as well as Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, Under-19, Under-23, and Absolute, with separate competitions for federated and non-federated players. The organization establishes three levels: C for beginners or those without experience, B for intermediate level, and A for federated players of intermediate or high level. In levels B and C, players can compete with or without a federative license.
Medals will be awarded to the top four finishers in each event and category, along with a recognition for the local breakthrough player at each venue.
Registrations remain open until Tuesday, September 22 and can be formalized through the platform todostorneos.es. Participation is free for players from Rincón de la Victoria, while athletes from other municipalities will pay 5 euros.
