The Málaga municipality will celebrate the third edition of its flamenco fashion show on Saturday, August 8, in Plaza Al-Ándalus, featuring four local designers and two from the capital.
Rincón de la Victoria will once again don flamenco attire next Saturday, August 8. The Town Hall has scheduled the III Pasarela Flamenca Bezmiliana, which will take place from 21:00 in Plaza Al-Ándalus, a venue that will host this event for the first time.
Six flamenco fashion brands will showcase their collections on the runway. Four of them are from the municipality: Arraigo (formerly Abril Design Atelier), Esther Viegas, Rosa Laura, and Ada Gutiérrez. They are joined by Málaga designers Enrique Vicent and Cándido Luis.
The Councillor for Culture, Paz Couto, highlighted that the event “is already part of our cultural agenda” and represents “a magnificent opportunity to recognise and value the work of our designers and the creative talent of the province of Málaga.”
“Moreover, this event allows us to advocate for flamenco fashion as an expression of our culture, our traditions, and our Andalusian identity, while also giving visibility to professionals and brands from our surroundings,” Couto added.
The Mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado, emphasised the cultural value of the gathering and its support for local talent. “This is a proposal that combines tradition, fashion, and creativity, which also helps generate activity and appeal during summer nights,” he stated.
Among the novelties of this edition is the change of location. The runway moves to Plaza Al-Ándalus, a space that, according to the Councillor for Culture, “will become a great showcase for flamenco fashion, with very different proposals and the talent of six brands that will make this a special night.”
The programme will also include a flamenco music proposal that will serve as the opening and closing of the show. The modelling school @manuelbeltranmb will participate with a dozen models from Rincón de la Victoria and Málaga, showcasing the designers' creations.
The initiative has the collaboration of Málaga de Moda and other entities, contributing to the promotion of Málaga design and fashion.
The runway was initially scheduled for July 11 but had to be postponed due to the official mourning declared by the Junta de Andalucía for the victims of the severe forest fire recorded in Los Gallardos (Almería).
The event thus consolidates itself as a summer fixture in Rincón de la Victoria, which champions flamenco fashion as a cultural identity marker and tourist attraction. Attendees will be able to enjoy the proposals of the six designers in an outdoor setting, with free entry.
