The Plenary of the Nerja Town Council approved this Tuesday, with the backing of all municipal groups, the allocation of the huts and boats of the fishermen at Burriana beach. The agreement, of an institutional nature, responds to the proposal agreed upon by the working group created to regulate this space.
This group has been made up of the Councillors for Fishing and Beaches, the spokespersons of the municipal groups, and representatives of the fishermen's collective from the beach. After several meetings, the list of users has been established based on their connection to fishing activities.
In total, the use of the sixteen existing huts has been authorized, of which one will be reserved for the Town Council for municipal services. Additionally, the agreement includes a request to the Territorial Delegation of Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing and Sustainable Development of Málaga for authorization to occupy the boatyard.
The Councillor for Fishing, Daniel Rivas, has thanked the involvement of the fishermen's representatives throughout the process and emphasized that the agreement allows for the orderly use of the huts according to the agreed criteria, ensuring proper management of this space.
With this measure, the Nerja Town Council regularizes a situation that directly affects the traditional activity of Burriana beach. Fishermen will be able to continue using their huts and boats with legal security, while the occupation of the boatyard is processed before the Junta de Andalucía.
The decision is part of the ongoing work of the council to bring order to the coastline and respond to the needs of the collective, which thus sees its work recognized. The next step will be the resolution of the territorial delegation, which will determine the final deadlines and conditions for the use of the boatyard.
