The ONCE Weekend draw has left the big prize of its jackpot in Nerja, with a winning ticket worth 300,000 euros in cash plus 5,000 euros a month for 20 years.
The Málaga municipality of Nerja was the scene of a significant stroke of luck this Saturday, July 25. The ONCE Weekend draw has distributed the main prize of the jackpot in the town, a ticket that totals 1,500,000 euros.
The winner will receive 300,000 euros in cash and 5,000 euros a month for the next 20 years. The ticket was sold by José Manuel Pereira, an ONCE seller with a decade of experience who was visibly emotional.
“I am very happy, it was about time I distributed a big prize, and what better than this. I hope it has gone to someone who really needs it,” Pereira stated. The point of sale is located next to the hermitage of Las Angustias, in the heart of the coastal town.
The seller, immersed in the summer hustle and bustle that characterises Nerja, joked that the prize will be “a little boost for sales this summer.” “I can’t wait to hang up the sign and spread the word, to share the good news with everyone,” he added.
The ONCE Weekend jackpot distributes a main prize of 300,000 euros in cash plus 5,000 euros a month for 20 years to a single ticket every Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, four other tickets receive 2,000 euros a month for 10 years.
On the same day, another jackpot of 2,000 euros a month for 10 years (240,000 euros in total) was won in the capital of Cádiz. The remaining prizes from the draw were distributed among Extremadura, Galicia, and the Valencian Community.
For the residents of Nerja and visitors, this prize is a reason for joy in the midst of the high tourist season. The arrival of summer multiplies activity in the town, and the news of the jackpot has spread like wildfire among the locals.
