Seven of the ten ponies from the Antequera Equestrian Club made it to the finals of the Spanish Pony Jumping Championship. The City Council has received the athletes to congratulate them on their titles and podiums.
The Antequera City Council wanted to recognise the efforts of the young riders from the city's Equestrian Club, who achieved brilliant results at the Spanish Pony Jumping Championship. The mayor, Manuel Barón, and the deputy mayor for Sports, Juan Rosas, welcomed the athletes, their families, and the technical team in the Plenary Hall to congratulate them on their performance in the national competition.
The participation of the Antequera club was particularly noteworthy: seven of the ten ponies transported qualified for the finals. Among the most outstanding results, rider Silvia Casado was crowned individual champion of Spain in Pony C 0*, team champion in Pony B 1*, and runner-up in Spain in this last category.
Estrella Valderrama also shone, winning the title of team champion of Spain in Pony B 1* and finishing fourth in the individual event. Meanwhile, Cayetana Lara achieved two national runner-up titles: one individual in Pony D 0* and another by teams, as well as a fifth place in Pony C 0*.
Collective successes and promises for the future
Lucía Rivera secured the national team title in Pony A 0*, while Marta Rivera and Iris Gámez reached the finals in Pony B 0*. The institutional reception served for municipal representatives to highlight the effort and dedication of the young athletes, as well as the training work of the Antequera Equestrian Club.
The results obtained consolidate the club as one of the references for grassroots equestrianism at the national level. For the residents of Antequera, these successes represent a source of pride and a demonstration of the sporting potential of the city, which continues to invest in grassroots sports.
A club that grows and trains champions
The Antequera Equestrian Club has been working for years to promote equestrianism among the youth, focusing on competition and the comprehensive training of riders. The performance at the Spanish Championship demonstrates that hard work pays off, and that the club's talent pool is in top form.
The mayor, Manuel Barón, emphasised during the event that these achievements are the result of the athletes' sacrifice and perseverance, as well as the support of their families and the club. He also encouraged the young people to continue striving to reach new goals.
For equestrian enthusiasts, these results are an incentive to closely follow local competitions. The Antequera Equestrian Club is already thinking about the upcoming challenges, with an eye on next year's championship, where they hope to repeat or even improve upon the successes achieved.
