The hotel association Aehcos predicts that establishments in Málaga province will reach nearly 90% occupancy this month, following an August that closed with 92.85% of rooms full.
The Association of Hotel Entrepreneurs of the Costa del Sol (Aehcos) has revised its forecasts for September upwards and estimates that hotels in the province will approach 90% occupancy, as reported by Diario Sur. This figure consolidates this month as a key period of summer for the destination.
The balance for August, presented by the president of the association, José Luque, shows an occupancy rate of 92.85%, slightly higher than the same month in 2025. “August once again provides us with a positive balance for the hotel sector in the province,” Luque noted.

The president of Aehcos emphasized that these indicators are “a demonstration of the strength and appeal that the Costa del Sol maintains during the peak season.” However, he urged caution regarding the evolution of demand in the coming months, as forecasts for September are “lower than those we had a year ago.”
The association groups hoteliers from municipalities such as Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, Estepona and the rest of the Costa del Sol, whose significance is crucial in Andalusian tourism.
