The Mijas Town Hall presents its golf promotion plans for 2027 to Costa del Sol Tourism and seeks joint actions to attract visitors year-round.
The Mijas Town Hall, through the Tourism Department, held a working meeting with Miguel Gallardo, head of the golf segment at Costa del Sol Tourism and Planning. In the meeting, held on 25 September 2026, the council presented the promotion lines it is preparing for 2027 and explored collaboration avenues with the agency dependent on the Provincial Council of Málaga.
During the meeting, possible joint promotion and marketing actions were analysed, as well as the target markets of interest for the municipality within golf tourism. The planning will allow for the coordination of Mijas' presence in initiatives driven by the provincial public company and give greater visibility to its offerings within the Costa del Sol destination.
The Tourism Councillor, Francisco Jerez, highlighted the importance of preparing these actions in advance.
“We want to reach 2027 with a clear plan and work hand in hand with Costa del Sol Tourism and Planning so that Mijas has a prominent presence in golf promotion”
Jerez also emphasised the interest of this segment for tourism activity throughout the year.
“Golf offers us an opportunity to continue attracting visitors outside of the peak months. That’s why we want to better coordinate the promotion of Mijas and take advantage of the joint actions we can develop with Costa del Sol Tourism and Planning”
The meeting is part of the work of the Tourism Department to strengthen collaboration with the promotion entities of the Costa del Sol and plan actions aimed at the segments of interest for the municipality. After this initial meeting, the Town Hall and Costa del Sol Tourism and Planning will continue working to specify the promotion actions for Mijas planned for 2027.
