Marbella FC has announced plans for the construction of a new football stadium to replace the old Estadio Municipal Antonio Lorenzo Cuevas. The project, which has the approval of the Marbella City Council, involves a total investment of approximately €115 million and a venue with a capacity for 10,000 spectators.
The new stadium will be built on the site of the old ground, located in the centre of Marbella, which has already been demolished. The total area of the complex will be around 45,000 square metres, and it will not be limited to the playing field but will also house multiple sports and leisure facilities.
Among the planned infrastructures is a high-performance centre for the training of footballers, a sports hotel with 90 rooms, commercial and dining areas, and parking for about 1,000 vehicles. The aim is for the complex to be active year-round, generating activity beyond match days.
The total budget for the project amounts to €115 million, of which €81.2 million corresponds to the cost of material execution. The initiative is driven by the Marbella FC Foundation, in collaboration with Best11 Group and the Marbella City Council.
Esteban Granero, former Real Madrid player and current representative of the Marbella entity, highlighted the importance of the new stadium for the club and the city.
