The Marbella City Council has activated the Municipal Employability Plan 2026-2027, a programme aimed at bringing local employment resources closer to residents and improving their access to the job market. The first call will take place between September and December and will bring events with companies, workshops and talks to Marbella, San Pedro Alcántara, Nueva Andalucía and Las Chapas, as reported by Diario Sur.
The General Director of Employment and Entrepreneurship, Alejandro Freijo, explained that the programme "is especially aimed at those who are unaware of the available services or who find it difficult to travel to the delegation's offices." The initiative is structured around three lines: inform, prepare and connect.
The information line will guide those actively seeking work or wanting to improve their professional situation. The preparation line includes four practical workshops on job interviews and selection processes, CVs and personal branding, online procedures with public administration and registration in public employment processes, and the services of the municipal Employment Agency.
"They will have an eminently practical character, so that participants can apply the tools acquired from the very first moment," Freijo pointed out.
The municipal official added that the goal is for "the job search to be carried out in a simple, guided manner and above all accompanied by the technicians from the City Council."
The connection line will bring residents closer to the business fabric of the municipality through events with entities in the different districts, with the participation of human resources and selection process managers. "Attendees will be able to learn about the needs of companies, the skills currently demanded and raise their questions about selection processes," Freijo detailed.
The General Director framed the plan in a positive moment for employment in Marbella, with an unemployment rate of 7.37 percent, the lowest among Andalusian municipalities with more than 40,000 inhabitants, and the best unemployment figures for an August in 19 years. "These results constitute an incentive to continue implementing new policies in the labour market," he stated.
