The second edition of the Carlos Goyanes Memorial Paddle Tournament will take place from August 3 to 7 at the Unicorn Racket Club in Marbella, featuring categories from pre-benjamin to female +17 and an entry fee of 25 euros.
The Unicorn Racket Club in Marbella will host the second edition of the Carlos Goyanes Memorial from August 3 to 7, 2026, a charity paddle tournament that pays tribute to the businessman who promoted this sport on the Costa del Sol. The organisation is led by the family of the honoree: his widow, Cari Lapique, and his daughter, Carla Goyanes.
The non-profit tournament was created to keep the memory of Carlos Goyanes alive, a key figure in the introduction and promotion of paddle in Marbella. The first edition, held in 2025, was well received, encouraging the organisers to expand both the number of days and the participating categories.
This year, the Memorial is structured into six categories: mixed pre-benjamin, benjamin (female and male), alevin, infantil, cadet, and a specific female +17 category. The registration fee is 25 euros per player, and interested parties can formalise it through the club.
One of the main novelties of this edition is the inclusion of Schweppes as a collaborating brand. The company, historically linked to gastronomy and major sporting events, will be present with several initiatives. All participants will receive a Schweppes Naranja in their welcome pack, one of the brand's most iconic references, made with whole oranges (skin, pulp, and juice).
Additionally, during the semi-finals, Schweppes will set up a bar serving gin and tonics, Paloma cocktails (with Schweppes Pomelo), and non-alcoholic mocktails, offering alternatives for all audiences. To top off their collaboration, the brand will raffle two double dinners at La Plage Casanis Marbella, the exclusive restaurant and beach club in Elviria, whose cocktail proposal is led by Colo Linari, Schweppes Mixing Master and executive bartender of the Casanis Group.
The tournament takes place on the courts of the Unicorn Racket Club, located in the coastal area between Marbella and Estepona. The club has facilities that allow for competitions of this type, and the family-friendly and sporting atmosphere is one of the hallmarks of the event.
The Carlos Goyanes Memorial aims not only to remember the businessman but also to promote the values he championed: sport, friendship, camaraderie, effort, and sportsmanship. Therefore, the programme is specially designed to bring together children, young people, adults, and families around paddle.
The organisers hope to exceed the participation of the first edition, which was already a success. This event thus consolidates itself as a benchmark in the sports calendar of the Costa del Sol, combining competition, solidarity, and tribute.
For more information, interested parties can contact the Unicorn Racket Club or follow the tournament's social media, where updates and the detailed match schedule will be announced.
