The Manilva Town Hall exhausts negotiations with the cleaning service concessionaire and announces sanctions. The Local Police will also monitor incivil behaviours.
The Manilva Town Hall will begin to apply the sanctions outlined in the street cleaning contract due to the repeated breaches by the concessionaire. This was announced by the Councillor for Cleaning, Gema Zotano, who stated that the Government team has exhausted all negotiation avenues.
Zotano explained that the decision comes after a summer in which the service has not met the municipality's expectations. The councillor emphasised that the council demands compliance with the contract to guarantee the image that Manilva deserves.
The Health Delegate, Juan Carlos Morejón, supported these statements and insisted that, beyond aesthetics, public health is at stake. Morejón indicated that the Local Police will be urged to sanction incivil behaviours that dirty the public thoroughfare.
Additionally, the councillor has requested citizen cooperation to keep the municipality clean. With these measures, the Town Hall aims for Manilva to present an image in line with the contracted service and meet the expectations of the residents.
The sanctions will be applied in accordance with what is stipulated in the contract, although the amount of the fines has not yet been specified. The Town Hall is confident that this pressure will help correct the situation before the end of the summer season.
