The Palacio de la Paz hosts this Friday the gala of the 'Azabache' Flamenco School, with tickets at 5 euros and performances paying tribute to Lorca, the verdiales, and Argentine students.
The Palacio de la Paz in Fuengirola is preparing for a night of art and tradition. This Friday, July 10, at 21:00 hours, the 'Azabache' Flamenco School, directed by Juan Antonio Pérez, will celebrate its end-of-year show. The event, which has become a tradition in the city's cultural calendar, promises to thrill the audience with a journey through the most authentic flamenco styles.
The Councillor for Festivals and Traditions, Isabel Moreno, and the academy's teacher, María Espinosa, have been responsible for presenting the event. Both have encouraged locals and visitors not to miss a gala that, as they highlighted, "will once again bring together the talent and work developed by the students throughout the year." Tickets, at a symbolic price of 5 euros, are already on sale.
Tributes and novelties on stage
The show will be structured in different flamenco pieces, each with its own personality. María Espinosa revealed that this year they have prepared "several very special proposals." Among them, a tribute to Federico García Lorca with a staging inspired by 'Los Peregrinitos', one of the most emblematic works of the Granada poet.
Additionally, the gala will include a piece dedicated to the verdiales from the Montes de Málaga, a traditional song and dance from the province that connects with the deepest roots of Andalusian folklore. As a novelty, the school will pay tribute to the many Argentine students who are part of its classes, "to bring them closer to their roots and culture," explained Espinosa.
The live music will be provided by Manuel 'El Yunque' on vocals and guitar, and will feature a special collaboration from singer Mary van der Lent, a recent participant in the show 'Tierra de Talento'. On stage, the school's teachers Antonio Martín, Rosa Victoria Ramírez, Luz Caballero, Carmen Jiménez, and María Espinosa herself will also dance, under the artistic direction of Juan Antonio Pérez 'Azabache'.
A summer of art in Fuengirola
Councillor Isabel Moreno recalled that "with the arrival of summer, the various dance academies in our city celebrate their end-of-year festivals at the Palacio de la Paz, offering the public the result of the effort and dedication of students and teachers throughout the year." On this occasion, the 'Azabache' Flamenco School takes the lead to delight attendees with "a show full of art, feeling, and tradition."
For the residents of Fuengirola, this gala represents a unique opportunity to enjoy live flamenco at an affordable price and in an unbeatable setting. The Palacio de la Paz, with its capacity and acoustics, becomes the perfect stage for an evening that promises to be unforgettable. Those who have not yet purchased their ticket can buy it in advance at the school, located in the Plaza de la Hispanidad, or on the day of the show at the box office of the Palacio de la Paz starting at 20:00 hours.
