The Fuengirola City Council has addressed 2,030 community reports in Torreblanca and Carvajal since January through the Gecor app, of which 1,739 have already been resolved, 86% of the total.

The Fuengirola City Council has managed 2,030 incidents in the neighbourhoods of Torreblanca and Carvajal since last January through the Gecor Juntos Fuengirola Avanza application. Of that total, 1,739 have already been resolved, representing 86%, while the 291 remaining are still in process or correspond to more complex actions, according to the councillor responsible for the area, María Hernández.

Hernández visited the neighbourhood this morning alongside the councillor for Citizen Action, Isabel Moreno, to check the status of the actions. Most of the reports addressed relate to lighting, pavements, cleaning, and gardening, tasks that are complemented by municipal plans for intensive cleaning and pressure washing that are carried out periodically in the area.

“The care of public spaces and our streets is a priority. Tools like Gecor allow us to understand the needs conveyed by residents almost in real time and act more quickly and effectively,” Hernández stated.

The councillor explained that she visits Torreblanca and Carvajal several days a week to supervise the streets and personally gather proposals from residents. Additionally, residents can contact her directly via the email torreblancacarvajal@fuengirola.org, set up as a specific communication channel.

“Managing a neighbourhood also involves walking its streets and listening to its residents. That’s why I dedicate several days a week to walking around Torreblanca and Carvajal and being available to residents,” she added.

Hernández indicated that this work is coordinated with the mayor, Ana Mula, who periodically visits the neighbourhood and holds an annual community meeting with residents, the latest of which took place on June 1.

To report incidents or raise queries, the City Council maintains several open channels: the Gecor Juntos Fuengirola Avanza app; the 24-hour mailbox 900 20 20 50; the phones 952 58 23 20 and 662 862 320, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 15:00; the Local Police (092) for dangerous situations; and the municipal mailbox for queries, complaints, and suggestions on the Transparency Portal. Once the incident is assessed, the Guard Service, operational 24 hours a day, is notified.
