The Ronda City Council has presented a free programme for those over 65 in celebration of the International Day of Older Persons. It includes five activities between October and November, with registration at the Centro Cultural Nuestro Padre Jesús.

The municipal delegate for Elderly Care, Alicia López, has introduced the programme of free activities to mark the International Day of Older Persons, which is celebrated on 1 October. The initiative, designed by the Sociocultural Workshops team, is aimed at those over 65 in Ronda and seeks to encourage social participation, promote healthy habits, and prevent unwanted loneliness.

The programme kicks off with a radio space that will give a voice to participants of the sociocultural workshops. The next event will be on 21 October, featuring a low-level hiking route along the coastal path between La Cala de Mijas and Cabopino.

On 26 October, there will be a session combining fitness and flamenco to work on coordination at the Senior Centre. On 6 November, there will be a healthy walk through Ronda with a scavenger hunt, and on 12 November, a cultural excursion to the Enchanted Forest of Parauta will take place, including a hiking route.

All activities are free and have limited spaces. Interested individuals can get information and register at the Centro Cultural Nuestro Padre Jesús, located on María Cabrera street, in the morning from 10:00 to 13:00 hours.

“I encourage the elderly in Ronda to participate in these proposals,” said Alicia López, who congratulated the entire community on this day and highlighted the City Council's commitment to active, healthy, and supported ageing.
