Málaga, 1 October 2026. The delegate of the Andalusian Government in Málaga, Patricia Navarro, has closed the second edition of the Andalucía Business Summit, an event organised by EY Group. During her participation, Navarro called for cooperation between administrations and the private sector to tackle the challenges of economic growth in the province.

Collaboration for Economic Growth

In her speech, Navarro highlighted that Málaga has established itself as one of the main economic engines of Andalucía and Spain. This allows for progress towards a more diversified economy, with an increase in technology, innovation, and business investment.

The delegate emphasised the importance of public-private collaboration as key to harnessing the dynamism of the Málaga economy. She asserted that the province has experienced notable growth since 2018, highlighting that it has incorporated over 24,600 self-employed individuals and nearly 170,000 workers affiliated with Social Security.

Conditions to Attract New Investments

Navarro emphasised that economic growth is the result of a Government that facilitates the arrival of new investments, mentioning the reduction of bureaucracy and administrative simplification. She also commented on the creation of the Project Acceleration Unit and the recent tax cuts that have made Andalucía a competitive community.

She highlighted examples of large multinationals that have chosen Málaga to establish themselves, such as IMEC and Google, which represents a significant advance in job creation and investment attraction. However, she also warned about the need to improve infrastructure and public services to accompany this growth.

Finally, Patricia Navarro advocated for the active collaboration of the Spanish Government in improving mobility and communications in Málaga, as well as for the construction of new affordable housing to reconcile economic development with the need for housing in the region.
