The free festival will take place on August 1 in Parque El Ángel featuring performances by Zenet, Felipa del Moreno, and local artists like Gaspar Rodríguez and Jassy Ojeda.
The singer Zenet and the cantaora Felipa del Moreno will headline the third edition of 'La Movida Flamenca' in Estepona, a festival that fuses flamenco and pop. The event, organised by the Estepona Town Hall, will take place on Saturday, August 1, in Parque El Ángel, starting at 20:45, with free entry.
Zenet, one of the most prominent voices in Spanish pop, will perform a concert with his band, incorporating jazz sounds. With five albums to his name, the Málaga artist has established himself as a reference for his elegant style and ability to reinterpret various musical genres. This will be his first performance in Estepona, adding an incentive for the local audience.
On the other hand, Felipa del Moreno, the stage name of Felipa Medrano Lara, is a Roma cantaora born in Jerez de la Frontera in 1980. She belongs to two great flamenco lineages, the Pantoja and the Moneo, and is the niece of figures such as Fernando Terremoto de Jerez, Juan Moneo Lara 'El Torta', and Manuel Moneo. Her presence at the festival also marks her debut in the coastal town.
The lineup is completed by local artists. Estepona guitarist Gaspar Rodríguez, who was part of the group Cañadú and served as musical director of the Nuevo Ballet Español, will open the festival. He will be followed by Jassy Ojeda, an emerging singer from the province of Málaga, selected for the national contest Girando Por Salas and who has just released her first album. The festival will also feature guest artists, guitarist Daniel Casares and singer Javier Ojeda, who previously performed together in the first edition of the event, which originated from a San Juan Night in Estepona.
The Councillor for Culture and Festivals of Estepona, Macarena Diánez, highlighted that the festival will offer four hours of live music with free access. “We seek distinction in our commitment to quality and emerging artists,” she stated. The councillor recalled that the seed of the festival was the collaboration between Daniel Casares and Javier Ojeda at a local fair, which led to this annual event.
For Estepona residents and visitors, the concert represents an opportunity to enjoy live music in an outdoor setting at no cost. Parque El Ángel, located in the city centre, is a regular venue for cultural events. It is recommended to arrive early to secure a spot, as high attendance is expected.
The festival strengthens the cultural offerings of summer on the Costa del Sol, combining nationally renowned artists with local talents. The third edition of 'La Movida Flamenca' is shaping up to be an unmissable event for flamenco and pop lovers.
