Around 40 cutters will participate on September 13 in the Plaza del Ajedrez. The plate of ham will cost 5 euros and the proceeds will go to the AECC of Estepona.
The Citizen Participation delegation of the Estepona City Council has presented the I Solidarity Meeting of Ham Cutters, which will take place on Sunday, September 13 from 12:00 to 18:00 in the Plaza del Ajedrez. The event will bring together around 40 professionals who will offer charitable tastings at 5 euros per plate.
The councillor in charge of Citizen Participation, María Aguilar, the president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Estepona, Julia Crespo, and the cutter Agustín Hernández have shared the details of the event. In addition to the tastings, there will be musical performances, raffles, and a space where the AECC will inform about its activities and services.
The funds raised will be entirely allocated to finance the free services that the AECC of Estepona provides to cancer patients and their families, as well as to cancer research. Aguilar has thanked the initiative and reminded that last month the City Council granted a premises to the entity for the next 20 years, ensuring the continuity of its assistance work.
“Collaborating so they can carry out their work under the best possible conditions,” the councillor noted about municipal support for these entities.
For their part, Crespo and Hernández explained that the meeting aims to become a reference charitable day in the municipality, with objectives such as raising funds, promoting citizen participation, raising awareness about prevention and research, valuing the culture of ham, and promoting Estepona as a municipality committed to social causes.
The ham tasting will take place in public, outdoors, and attendees will be able to contribute from 12:00. The event will conclude at 18:00.
