The Benalmádena Town Hall has put out to tender the works for its third Asphalt Plan, with a budget of €3,049,783 and an execution period of 90 days. The project will cover 10.5 linear kilometres of streets and renew over 62,000 square metres of asphalt.
The Benalmádena Town Hall has launched its third Asphalt Plan, which will involve the renewal of 10.5 linear kilometres of streets and more than 62,000 square metres of surface. The works, as published by Diario Sur, have already been put out to tender via an urgent procedure with a budget of €3,049,783, VAT included, and an execution period of 90 days.
Of the total investment, €700,000 corresponds to the contribution from the Provincial Council of Málaga through the Municipal Economic Assistance Plan (PAEM). The project is based on the Asphalt Plan for 2024, developed by Roma Ingenieros Consultores and completed last May.
The Councillor for Roads and Works, José Luis Bergillos, has highlighted the scope of the project.
“This is already the third Asphalt Plan we are launching during this term, which demonstrates this government team's strong commitment to progressively improving the condition of our streets and addressing the needs of the different areas of Benalmádena.”
The councillor also thanked the support of the Provincial Council of Málaga, which “contributes to our ability to continue undertaking necessary investments to improve our infrastructure and public spaces.” He summarised: “With this third plan, we continue to fulfil our commitment to invest in the maintenance and renewal of the streets of Benalmádena, improving safety, mobility, and the image of our municipality.”
The Town Hall justifies the tender due to the need to repair roadways that have deteriorated due to high vehicle traffic during the summer season, which has left them “unsafe” and generates noise, according to the documentation. The works will include milling when necessary, repairing potholes, replacing horizontal and vertical signage, raising manholes, and correcting pedestrian crossings.
The actions will be distributed across the three population centres. Among the streets included are Berlín, Bruselas, Londres, Roma, Verdi, Ángel de la Riva Resines, Dinamarca, Rosa, Moscatel, Madrid, Araucaria, Bajondillo, Matogroso, Membrillo, Brezo, Castaño, Calabaza, Willy Manchot, Anacardo, Luis Cernuda, Sierra Bermeja (main and secondary roads), Medina Azahara (plots A and B), Finlandia, and Miraflores; the avenues of Hacienda, Vista, and Chorrillo; and the paths of Caserío, Era, La Loma, and Dehesa.
Interventions will also take place at the roundabouts of the streets Berlín and Madrid and of Madrid and Granada, as well as in parking areas of the avenues of Hacienda and Chorrillo and of the streets Araucaria, Matogroso, Membrillo, Castaño, Willy Manchot, Luis Cernuda, and Sierra Bermeja.
The previous Asphalt Plan was executed in two phases between mid-July and late September, with a budget of just over €709,000 fully financed with municipal funds, and reached over twenty streets and areas of Benalmádena Pueblo, Arroyo de la Miel, and Costa.
Interested companies can submit their bids for this third plan, which is being processed via an urgent procedure. The execution period once awarded will be 90 days.
