A 1959 Land Rover 109 Series II that belonged to actors Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz has been sold at auction for $56,000, approximately €48,000 at current exchange rates. The transaction was managed by the auction house Bring a Trailer, according to Diario Sur.

The buyer does not just receive the off-roader. The sale includes a handwritten note and a portrait signed by Craig, the actor who portrayed James Bond in the latest installments of the franchise.

The vehicle, with a wheelbase of 109 inches, features a body in bronze green and details such as a horseshoe mounted on the grille, a rope winch, a canvas cover over the cargo area, and fender-mounted side mirrors. The 16-inch steel wheels are painted in the same colour as the body and are fitted with Cooper Discoverer STT 235/85 tyres, with a spare mounted on the hood.

Inside, there are three individual seats reupholstered in brown vinyl, external three-point seatbelts, sliding windows, dashboard ventilation grilles, and a three-spoke banjo-style steering wheel. The Jaeger instruments include a 120 km/h speedometer and a combined fuel and ammeter gauge. The odometer read 3,800 miles (about 6,116 kilometres) at the time of purchase, although the selling dealer warned that the reading was not accurate.

Under the hood, it has a 2.25-litre inline four-cylinder engine, with 77 hp and 124 lb-ft of factory torque, paired with a four-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a RoverDrive overdrive system with floor shift. The vehicle was recently equipped with a Carter carburettor and electronic ignition, and the generator and several engine gaskets were replaced.
