In Málaga, during the first half of 2023, the 061 Emergency Health Centre provided training in basic first aid to a hundred young people. In total, 6,731 people have received this training in Andalusia.
Mass training sessions
More than a hundred professionals from 061 have voluntarily conducted a total of 57 open days in educational centres and six mass sessions. Of the participants, 61.5% have received direct training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and management of potentially life-threatening emergencies.
The initiative aims to raise public awareness about the importance of a proper response to emergencies, promoting knowledge of the survival protocol while help is requested from emergency teams.
Impact of training in Málaga
Since 2016, 061 has carried out 122 sessions in Málaga, training approximately 15,000 people in the province. These sessions include the presentation of the resources of the emergency service and an explanation of how the urgent care system works.
