The Benalmádena Town Hall has repainted the stand, cleaned gutters, and renewed the awning. The Councillor for Mobility, Raúl Campos, highlights the collaboration with the sector and the improvements made in recent years.
The Town Hall of Benalmádena has carried out improvement works at the taxi stand in Benalmádena Pueblo. The actions have included repainting the facilities, cleaning gutters, and renewing the awning, as reported by the Council.
The Councillor for Mobility, Raúl Campos, explained that these tasks are part of the measures that the Town Hall has been implementing for years to modernise the service. Campos emphasised the relationship with professionals:
“We maintain a very close and fluid relationship with taxi professionals, listening to their needs and working together to respond to their demands”.
Among previous initiatives, the councillor recalled the installation of identifying vinyls on vehicles two years ago and the incorporation of new polos for drivers in the corporate colours of Benalmádena. There was also work done at the Arroyo de la Miel stand with thermal insulation treatment to eliminate the greenhouse effect, and the various stands in the municipality were repainted and reorganised.
The Plenary recently approved the update of taxi fares, which had not been modified for more than seven years. Campos defended that the measure was agreed upon with other municipalities on the Costa del Sol:
“This is not a decision made in isolation by Benalmádena, but a measure worked on and agreed upon jointly with other municipalities on the Costa del Sol”.
The Mobility area monitors compliance with services for people with reduced mobility (PRM) by adapted vehicles and participates in the Disability Table. The councillor summarised the objective:
“We want a modern, recognisable, accessible, and quality taxi service, but we also want those who provide it to have suitable conditions to carry out their work”.
