Andalusia is preparing for the total solar eclipse that will occur in August 2027, the first in over a century in the region. This eclipse will be the second in a series of three that will take place between 2026 and 2028. The first will occur on August 12 of this year and will be partial, just like the one in 2028. However, the one in 2027 will be fully observable in various parts of Andalusia.

It is recommended to take the weather into account, planning for sun protection and ensuring adequate hydration. Special attention should also be paid to the health of the elderly and children. To observe the eclipse, the continuous use of certified glasses in optimal condition will be required.
The eclipse will be fully visible in several Andalusian locations. In the province of Almería, it can be observed in Adra, Almería, El Ejido, and Roquetas de Mar, among others. In Cádiz, towns such as Algeciras, Jerez de la Frontera, and San Fernando will be within the totality zone. In Granada, it will be seen in municipalities like Almuñécar and Motril, and in Málaga, it can be observed in places like Benalmádena, Marbella, and Nerja.
This astronomical phenomenon will be a significant event that could attract thousands of visitors to the best observation points in Andalusia. The eclipse is expected to occur around 10:45 to 10:50, approaching its maximum point in Egypt, where totality will last more than six minutes.
