On August 12, the Plaza de los Cangrejos will host performances by young artists, a manga and Harry Potter market, and workshops for all ages.
The Plaza de los Cangrejos in Nerja will become the epicentre of the International Youth Day celebration on August 12, with a programme starting at 21:00 aimed at highlighting the talent and participation of the municipality's youth.
The programme, presented this Wednesday, includes performances of modern dance, rhythmic gymnastics displays, Zumba, classical guitar, magic, and fashion shows, featuring local artists and groups. As a new feature, a themed market inspired by the manga universe and Harry Potter will be set up, along with areas dedicated to video games and participatory workshops.
The Councillor for Youth, Daniel Rivas, and the Councillor for Culture, Ana María Muñoz, have highlighted that this day is an opportunity to recognise the effort and creativity of young people, and they emphasised that the Town Hall continues to support providing spaces for them to express themselves and share their concerns.
“International Youth Day is an opportunity to recognise the effort, involvement, and creative capacity of our youth. The Town Hall continues to support offering them spaces where they can express themselves, share their concerns, and be the true protagonists of this day.”
The event is free of charge and open to all citizens. Municipal officials have encouraged residents and visitors to participate in this night dedicated to youth and local talent, in a privileged setting like the Plaza de los Cangrejos.
The event will take place on August 12 at 21:00, with free access until capacity is reached. The organisation recommends arriving early to enjoy all the proposals, which will take place outdoors.
