The fourth edition of 'Sabor a Cómpeta' will bring together on Saturday, 26th September, tapas from 25 countries prepared by local residents, who represent 52 nationalities. The proceeds will go to Cáritas and Todo Ayuda Project.
The Plaza de España in Cómpeta will host the fourth edition of 'Sabor a Cómpeta' on Saturday 26th September, a gastronomic event framed within Resident's Day that will offer tapas from 25 different countries. The activity will start at 2 PM and the food will be prepared by the local residents, as reported by Diario Sur.
Payments will be made using 'Cómpeta cash', a currency created for the occasion that can be obtained in vouchers of five and ten euros. Each tapa will cost two euros and the proceeds will be entirely allocated to Cáritas and Todo Ayuda Project, an entity dedicated to the care of abused or abandoned animals.
The Councillor for Residents, Marius Lawrence Jonker, explained that in the municipality “50% are foreigners, with 53 different nationalities. This makes Cómpeta the seventh municipality in Spain with the most residents considering we are 4,000 people.” The councillor highlighted “the good coexistence that is felt” in the town.

This was emphasized by the Councillor for Tourism and Culture, Mónica Ruiz, who detailed the international journey of the day. There will be food stalls from countries such as Lesotho, Indonesia, Greece, Belgium, Wales, the Netherlands, Slovakia, South Africa, Mexico, Turkey, England, Morocco, Italy, Thailand, Malta, Australia, and Scotland, among others. Traditional Spanish food from Cómpeta will be provided by the Asociación de Mujeres La Asunción.
Additionally, at 12:00 PM, a charity raffle will be held, and throughout the day, musical groups from Spain, England, the Netherlands, and Belgium, among others, will perform.
