The Silken Antequera Hills Hotel will host the fifth edition of the Manga Weekend on Saturday 19 September, featuring ten hours of programming, free entry, and a new area dedicated to Asia.
The Silken Antequera Hills Hotel will be the venue for the fifth edition of Manga Weekend Antequera, which will take place on Saturday 19 September with free entry. The event, organised by the Antequera City Council through the Youth Department, will offer ten uninterrupted hours of activities, from 11:00 to 21:00.
The Youth Councillor, Marta González, has presented the programme for this edition, which includes a new thematic area dedicated to Asia. This space will feature decorations, workshops, and activities inspired by the traditions of Japan, China, and Korea.
Confirmed guests include the Granada-born writer Custodio Pérez, originally from Huétor Tájar, who will share his journey in crime novels and thrillers, as well as his project Andalucía Negra. Voice actor Antonio Esquivias, known for his extensive career in film, television, animation, and video games, and for voicing Secondary Actor Bob in The Simpsons, will also participate.
The day will feature a themed area for Pokémon, a photocall inspired by One Piece, and a Beyblade gaming area with a tournament and prizes. Additionally, there will be a Cosplay Contest and a K-Pop contest, both of which have already filled their participation slots.
Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy video games, virtual reality, a play area, workshops, and participatory activities. The venue will also have an artist area and themed product sales, along with new offerings such as 3D themed games and an axe-throwing activity.
“The programme will run from 11:00 to 21:00 and will include a new Asian area, cosplay and K-Pop contests, video games, and the participation of writer Custodio Pérez and voice actor Antonio Esquivias,” the Youth Department has reported.
The V Manga Weekend Antequera will take place on Saturday 19 September at the Silken Antequera Hills Hotel, with free access until capacity is reached.
