The Torremolinos Town Hall has put out to tender the supply and installation of a wooden floor for the San Francisco de Asís pavilion, which will host skating, futsal, basketball, judo, or rhythmic gymnastics.
The San Francisco de Asís sports pavilion in Torremolinos will have a new parquet floor that will expand the disciplines that can be practiced in its facilities. The Torremolinos Town Hall has put out to tender the supply and installation of this sports flooring for an amount of €123,831 (including VAT), and interested companies have until August 17 at 23:59 to submit their bids.
The installation of this solid wood floor will allow the practice of sports such as skating, futsal, and basketball, as well as other activities like judo or rhythmic gymnastics. The flooring will feature a vapor barrier, elastic and batten systems, as well as a joint and hidden nail fastening system, and will include court markings for the various disciplines.
This action is part of the adaptation of the complex for public use, after the Junta de Andalucía transferred the pavilion and the adjacent court to the Torremolinos Town Hall in October 2023, which were part of the children's centre of the same name. Following the compatibility report issued by the Territorial Delegation in Málaga of the Urban Planning Department, the space is being prepared as community sports equipment.
The new covered space will add to the numerous sports infrastructures in the locality, which are already used by thousands of club and school members for their training and competitions. With this improvement, Torremolinos expands its sports offerings and responds to the demand for facilities for disciplines that require specific flooring.
