The ninth and final regional fair of the season takes place from 25 to 27 September at the Boulevard of La Cala. It brings together 36 producers from 20 municipalities and over 350 artisanal products.
The fair Sabor a Málaga is set up from this Friday at the Boulevard of La Cala, in Mijas, with the participation of 36 producers from 20 municipalities in the province and an exhibition of more than 350 artisanal products. The event, which will run until Sunday 27 September, is the ninth and final regional fair of the 2026 season organised by the Provincial Council through the Sabor a Málaga brand.
The presentation was led by the mayor of Mijas, Ana Mata, and the director of Sabor a Málaga, Leonor García-Agua. Mata highlighted the municipality's role in the provincial agri-food sector and recalled that the 2025 edition, also held in Mijas, generated a turnover of €120,000.
“Mijas is the perfect showcase to display the quality and uniqueness of the zero-kilometre products from our province. Just like last year, I am convinced that this edition of Sabor a Málaga will be a great success,” the mayor stated.
For her part, García-Agua explained that during the three days, visitors can enjoy over fifteen activities for all audiences, including wine and cheese tastings, cocktail workshops, gourmet sandwiches, a masterclass by chef Juan Carmona, as well as children's activities, music, and dance.
Attendees will be able to purchase and taste extra virgin olive oils, wines with the Málaga and Sierras de Málaga designations of origin, Málaga goat cheeses, traditional cured meats, Iberian products, olives and pickles, breads and artisanal sweets, gluten-free pastries, jams and preserves, coffees from local roasters, chocolates, honeys, ice creams, subtropical fruits, craft beers, liqueurs, and natural cosmetics made from citrus fruits from the Valle del Guadalhorce.
The participating producers come from municipalities such as Alhaurín el Grande, Almargen, Antequera, Ardales, Arriate, Benamargosa, Coín, Colmenar, Faraján, Málaga, Mijas, Mollina, Periana, Pizarra, Rincón de la Victoria, Riogordo, Ronda, Teba, Vélez-Málaga, and Villanueva del Trabuco.
The fair will open its doors this Friday 25 September at 11:00 hours with a welcome to the producers and the opening of the exhibition spaces. The official inauguration by the authorities is scheduled for 12:00 hours, followed by an institutional visit to the exhibitors. At 13:00 hours, gourmet sandwiches made with Sabor a Málaga products will be offered, and at 14:00 hours, there will be an activity dedicated to aperitif wines, Málaga citrus fruits, and other provincial products. The day will conclude with a performance of traditional dances by UP de Mijas, directed by teacher Remedios Fernández, at 17:30 hours.
The event closes the calendar of regional fairs for 2026, which has previously visited Torremolinos, Vélez-Málaga, Benalmádena, Torrox, Nerja, Ronda, Antequera, and Rincón de la Victoria. This is the fifth year that Sabor a Málaga has been held in Mijas.
